Overview
About the event
This workshop is a great way to deepen your practice and knowledge of both the Yang and Yin Yoga. This workshop will verse participants in the fundamental concepts of yin—what it is, and how and why we do it.
Research has shown that the consistent practice of yin yoga can improve measures of anxiety, depression and resilience. Here you will learn also how to enhance the processes by which this type of healing can occur, during a yin practice, through both modifications to the practice environment and conscious choices that stem from a framework of trauma-responsiveness and the undergirding neurobiology of stress.
We will begin to create a container and be introduced to a moment-by-moment practice which can impact your internal experience of the practice and enhance self-inquiry, bodily awareness and healing. Throughout the workshop you will gain new depths of personal insight and awareness through direct experience of the philosophy behind yin yoga as practiced to amplify emotional and somatic healing.
By the end of the training, students will have an understanding of:
- Philosophy and practice of yin yoga
- The benefits of the practice
- The Meridians and Five Elements
- Fascia and connective tissue and their importance
Schedule
