About the event
This workshop focuses on discussing theory and facts about stress. Participants will learn about the two sides of stress, its benefits and downsides. They will also gain awareness about their own stress symptoms, assess their own level of tension and explore various stress coping strategies including relaxation techniques and the power of positive thought. A special focus of the workshop will be on the typical stressors we face in our day-to-day life and how learn to respond to them in a more constructive and harmonious way.
In this workshop, students can try out this practical exercise
- Formal Mindfulness (mindful breathing, walking-meditation, body scan, sitting meditation, self-compassion meditation, loving kindness, growing joy meditation)
- Informal Mindfulness Meditation (SAFE, being mindful of habit, the gift of rest, mindful eating, mindful lying yoga)
- Mindfulness and the Mind-Body Connection
- The Rethinking Stress Exercises – these are designed to shift your way of thinking about stress
- The Transform Exercises – includes spot-on strategies to use in moments of stress, as well as self-reflection that will help you cope with specific challenges in life.
Schedule
The workshop will begin with a 15-minute mindful eating exercise. After that we’ll discuss the Science of Stress and Mindfulness. We’ll have quick break at about 14:00 with some healthy snack. Right after that we’ll dive directly to the practice of mindfulness and stress reduction. We’ll end the day with lying mindful yoga practice.
