What is Somatic Ecstatic Dance?
Giulia is finally bringing Somatic Ecstatic Dance to RE:TREAT – with some special extras (headphones) to create a truly immersive experience.
Somatic Ecstatic Dance is a freeform movement practice that combines the principles of somatic movement (attuning to sensations and emotions in the body) with the liberating and often ecstatic experience of dance.
Giulia will guide you through the dance. To create a fully immersive experience, headphones will be used, allowing you to adjust the volume of the music to your own preference.
What can you expect?
Experience a unique Somatic Ecstatic Dance Trance session on the beautiful rooftop terrace of the Ruby Marie Hotel. Equipped with wireless headphones, you’ll be gently guided through movement and music.
Unlike a typical Silent Disco, where the focus is mainly on free dancing, Somatic Ecstatic Trance invites you on a consciously guided journey through movement, body awareness, and emotion.
Through Giulia’s voice, you’ll be led via headphones through different phases of the session – from gentle grounding to powerful expression and deep integration.
Here, you don’t dance for others – you dance with yourself.
Afterward, you’re invited to wind down with a drink on the terrace and watch the night unfold over the rooftops of Vienna.
