About

This 8-week mindfulness course is based on the best-selling book ‘Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World’ – by Prof. Mark Williams and Dr. Danny Penman. The course follows an Oxford Mindfulness curriculum and is based on the evidence-based programme Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). It is designed to be accessible for anyone wishing to learn practical tools to improve their wellbeing and resilience.

If you’re completely new to mindfulness, or have a limited experience with the practice, this course offers an engaging and practical introduction.

Course Themes

Waking-up to the Life we have
Mindfulness begins with noticing how often we move through life on automatic pilot and recognising the impact this has on our wellbeing. Connecting to direct sensory experience offers us a gateway to fully engage with the present moment.
Keeping the Body in mind
In a world full of distractions, the body can be a reliable anchor that helps us steady ourselves. By paying attention to physical sensations, we begin to notice the early signs of stress, fatigue, or
anxiety – often before we’re consciously aware of them.

Integrating mindfulness into everyday life
Small pauses of awareness throughout the day help interrupt stressful momentum and the thinking patterns that fuel it.

Relating differently to thoughts and worries
Thoughts have a strong influence on how we feel. Learning to loosen their grip opens space for more helpful perspectives and prevents downward spirals in mood and motivation.

Shifting from reacting to responding

Our habitual reactions to difficulty can leave us feeling stuck and can limit creativity. By practising mindful allowing and letting-be, we create space for choice – responding in ways that support
wellbeing, clarity, and constructive action.

Practising kindness
Bringing a sense of care and kindness to ourselves in moments of distress and reactivity supports our capacity to respond skilfully.

Taking care of yourself.
The daily choices we make profoundly shape our wellbeing. Under stress, we often neglect the activities that nourish, restore, and uplift us, which can lead to exhaustion. Reconnecting with what replenishes us is key to sustainable self-care.

What you will learn

This 8-session experiential course supports the development of mindfulness-based self-regulation skills to strengthen wellbeing and resilience.

The course guides participants from living on autopilot to responding with greater awareness and choice.

You will learn to reconnect with the body, relate more skilfully to thoughts and worries, interrupt unhelpful patterns, choose kindness instead of judgement and cultivate sustainable self-care.

What to expect

Each session gently builds on the last, combining guided meditation, reflective practice, and shared
discussion.

To fully benefit from this learning journey, participants are encouraged to attend all 8 sessions.

Home practice is an integral part of this course, with guided practices and new daily habits supporting the integration of mindfulness into everyday life.
Participants are expected to dedicate ca. 20 minutes a day for personal home practice.

The course will be held in English (German spoken too).
